  1. Awesome video, Smithee. I'm going to email this to my wife, who falls asleep with Chris Matthews on.

  2. Nice. Especially after having accidentally subjected myself to yet another local Obama worship session just before bed on Saturday.

  3. There's a couple good versions of this one on teh youtube.

  4. Eh, just the usual LJ blather, Smithee. Nothing you haven't seen before. Oh, Obama's so handsome!! Oh, Obama's so well spoken!! Oh, we're so lucky to be living in the age of Obama. Blah fucking blah. It's especially touching that all these desperate hosannas are going on when the ink is barely dry on Stupak. Welcome to the Teflon Presidency: 2009 Edition.

But just once, I wish the Democrats who go on and on about how Oh, those stupid Republicans are always worshipping the very people who screw them for profit would take a goddamn look at themselves in the mirror. :/

  5. Cynthia McKinney was saying something like that in a speech she gave in Mnpls last week. There's no class or race, religious or political divisions when it comes to personality cults.

Waitaminnit... you mean, that Cynthia McKinney? The one who ran as a Green in '04? Jayzus, that is so fucked up, man...

  8. McKinney ran for president on the Green Party ticket in '08. I remember because I voted for her. Her speech can be downloaded here.

    Let's see:
    He's handsome? Check.
    He's charismatic? Check.
    He's smart? Check.
    He's well-spoken? Check.

Now, what have they forgotten...? Oh, yeah --
He won because the GOP nominated the worst possible ticket and made the st00pidest decisions they could possibly make during the campaign.

    There, that oughta' do it.

My Dear Wife (aka the DW) loves to go on and on about how smart he is, about how he was the Editor of the Harvard Law Review, he's this, he's that, he's ad nauseum. Still, judging from his decisions and his record in his first year in office, I'm starting to think that maybe Smart Is The New Stupid.

(btw, Smithee, you have my permission to use that phrase in the context of the Obama Crew. Spread it far and wide.)

  12. ...Smart Is The New Stupid.

We should get married. Our spouses need never know.

  13. You forgot:

    "He's smarter than George Bush."

    You also forgot:

"What do you want, George Bush as president again? Huh? HUH!!??"

    and

    "Just look at those eyes!"

In the nice eyes, smarter than Bush, non-Bush category, Obama is the man. Who can top him, that shifty-eyed devil Nader?
